The J. L. Hunt Ranch Experience
Our ranchette, nestled in the heart of beautiful Santa Ynez, is a family run haven for your furry friends. Warmly welcomed to our home and for the duration of their stay, your dogs will be loved and cared for as our own. Our cozy and secure boarding den, vineyard adjacent dog park, and heated pool facility will provide a safe, fun, and memorable stay for your pets.
Services
BOARDING
The boarding accommodations at the ranch are located in our guest quarters attached to our home. Your dog will live in the same beautiful climate controlled space as our family. We strive to maintain your dogs sleeping arrangements that he or she would have in their own home.
DAYCARE
At J. L. Hunt Ranch we offer daycare services for those pets only requiring a short stay with us. During their visit we do our best make it a fun filled day for your pets.
Daycare Hours : 8am - 6pm
TRAINING
With 35 years training dogs for the professional and private sector, all training at J. L. Hunt Ranch will be conducted by James Hunt.

James Hunt
James Hunt is an author, entrepreneur, dog trainer and retired firefighter. The course in which James Hunt has chosen to navigate through life has always been greatly influenced by his love for dogs. After 35 years as a member of the Los Angeles City Fire Dept. and training dogs in the professional and private sector, James has found his way to the Santa Ynez Valley. Whatever course James chooses is always influenced by his passion for dogs - from his position as CEO with Chew No More Inc., authoring of children’s training book “I Have a New Puppy Now What?”, to training the dogs of some of the most influential people of Southern California. After 35 years of being involved in the pet industry, James has found the perfect location - a beautiful ranchette in Santa Barbara County where he continues to provide his expertise, love, and care for your dogs.

J. L Hunt Ranch is a family owned and operated business with no employees. We believe in accountability. We will never have more dogs on our property than there are family members to care for them. J. L. Hunt Ranch is not a traditional kennel experience. Your dogs will be welcomed into our home and treated as members of our family. We strive to make your dog feel as comfortable as they would in your own home.
